Our Love Story
In the beginning of October, 2021, Andrés and Masha met online and exchanged a few messages. Nothing extraordinary at first—just two people connecting. Andrés thought it would be a great idea to ask to FaceTime, even though they lived only 20 minutes apart, "to make sure she was real" and not "too good to be true". It was a bold move, but they went for it anyway and ended up having a great conversation.
However, the universe had other plans. Maria went through a devastating time and disappeared from Andrés' radar without them ever meeting in person. Uncertain but hopeful, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was still more to discover between them. Summoning a bit of courage, he reached out to her after three weeks of silence, saying it would be a shame to let the spark of their initial connection fade away. One line from his message that stayed with her was: "If you have a good feeling about this too and just need some time, I’ll wait until the first snow falls in the Netherlands." It showed her that he would be there for her, no matter how long it might take.
Then came their first long vacation together in Bulgaria, at the family house, where they quickly learned just how fast their relationship was progressing. They became inseparable—so much so that they decided to move in together in Houten, with the three of them under one roof: father, daughter, and future son-in-law. Oh, and not to forget Oscar, the dog.
It was always inevitable that they would end up together in marriage. This was confirmed on May 30th, 2024, when Andrés proposed while they were exploring the beautiful Kaş, Turkey, in a camper van, and she said yes. Nearly a year later, they're preparing to say "I do" again on May 31st, 2025, in the Cappadocia, Turkey.
From the very first moment they met to the countless memories and adventures they've created, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. They are thrilled to share this next chapter with you, their dear friends and family.
Back in the Netherlands, on December 18th, 2021, they finally went on their first date—a walk with coffee, where Andrés tried matcha for the first time and pretended to like the food that Masha proposed. They talked about so much, diving deep into different topics. Masha thought he was going to make a "good friend." and might be a better fit for one of her friends, but somehow, he managed to escape that friend-zone . On their next date, they went ice skating, and they really started to feel comfortable with each other. They both felt so lucky to have such a connection. The third date Masha invited him at her place and cooked for him and offered all kinds of Russian delicacies. This must have been the moment Andrés knew she was the one.
Fast forward to February 3rd, 2022—Masha mentioned that they weren't officially dating yet even though they have been seeing each other for a while now. She wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea of having a boyfriend, but Andrés knew exactly what to say to persuade her. He explained that, to him, dating simply meant two people getting to know each other better and that becoming boyfriend and girlfriend was the next step—a commitment to only seek a further and deeper connection to each other.

Cappadocia is located in the mountains, so the weather jumps from 25 - 32C° daytime to 10 - 15C° during the night. So, please bring a light coat or scarf to keep warm.
Getting There
Transportation
To make it as easy as possible, there are two nearby airports you can fly into: Kayseri Airport (ASR) and Nevşehir Airport (NAV). Both are an hour drive from Potamia Cave Suite Hotel. There are direct flights from Amsterdam (AMS) to Kayseri Airport (ASR) using SunExpress. Flying from Vnukovo international airport (VKO) to Ankara Esenboga Airport (ESB) is the best option when flying from Russia. From Kayseri Airports (ASR) and Nevşehir Airport (NAV) there are shuttle busses driving up and down to the hotel. It might be best to rent a car (at the airport) to be able to drive around in Capadoccia. There is a lot to see and having a car helps to move around freely
